At TIU, we offer the “Career Experience Practicum” program each semester in collaboration with global companies from various industries. This program brings together international students using English as a common language, aiming to cultivate the next generation of business professionals.
Students are divided into groups to devise business solutions to social issues, receiving advice from corporate representatives, and presenting their ideas at the end of the semester.
For the spring semester of 2024, TIU collaborated with the Japan Research Institute (JRI), one of Japan’s leading think tanks. JRI, whose core philosophy is “co-creating new customer values,” provides consulting services utilizing IT solutions.
This program saw participation from 36 E-Track students from 12 countries, who were divided into six groups for their presentations. The topics covered were intriguing, including approaches to diversity and inclusion in the workplace, creating a work environment conducive to foreign employees, and methods for reducing carbon dioxide emissions in daily life.
In Japan, where the population decline is leading to a reduction in the workforce, the focus on securing highly skilled foreign talent is increasing. At JRI, there are currently employees from 13 countries, reflecting a growing interest among students in workplace diversity as they prepare for their future careers.
Following the presentations, there was a Q&A session and exchange of opinions with JRI representatives, providing a valuable opportunity for deeper understanding.
Through programs such as Career Practicum, students enhance practical skills by allowing them to identify and solve problems themselves, TIU aims to provide empowering learning experiences that prepare them to become immediate assets as business professionals.
We will continue to support the growth of our students through close collaboration with unique and innovative companies, encouraging them to explore new horizons and achieve their fullest potential.
