Cancellation of the 2020 Fall Matriculation Ceremony

In response to the novel coronavirus pandemic, Tokyo International University has made the difficult choice to cancel the 2020 Fall Matriculation Ceremony.

To our new students, the April Matriculation Ceremony was already postponed once before, and the university was anticipating having a joint ceremony in September with Fall new students. However, unfortunately the conclusion was reached that this would not be possible.

This ceremony would have celebrated the official start of your bright new future, and the decision to cancel it was especially hard.

The health and well-being of our new students, their family and relatives is our top-priority. While we understand how disheartening this decision is, we ask for your understanding and acceptance.

Instead of a formal ceremony, Chancellor Kurata and President Shiozawa are planning to deliver their congratulatory remarks via video broadcast. The broadcast URL and other details will be announced at a later date, as soon as they are finalized.
