Dear Graduate school applicants who would like to study at TIU with the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for 2020,
This scholarship opportunity is only for those living outside Japan. Please note the following points.
1. Preliminary Screening by the Japanese Embassy
1) You are required to pass the preliminary screening by the Japanese embassy prior to applying to TIU. Therefore, please first contact the Japanese Embassy before contacting the E-Track Office at TIU.
2) Once you have passed the preliminary screening at the embassy, you must contact TIU regarding your desire to enroll no later than August 23 (Fri). 2. English Requirement
In addition, applicants must submit the results of the TOEFL ibt, IELTS, TOEIC, or Pearson PTE Academic tests to apply for the graduate school at TIU. The minimum required scores are shown below.
TOEFL iBT 80 / TOEIC 780 / IELTS 6.0 / Pearson PTE 50
3. Letters of Recommendation
Two original letters of recommendation from a teacher / professor / supervisor / school official who have supervised the work of the student from the most recent school attended must be submitted.
4. Application Fee
Applicants are required to pay the application fee 5,000 JPY for the screening.
Note) Eligibility to Apply as a Research Student
Please note that applicants are not eligible to apply to TIU as a research student without having already earned a Master’s Degree.
